- According to the Pew Research Center, 72% Republicans think Democrats are dishonest and immoral, and 83%of Democrats think Republicans are closed-minded. As the 2024 Presidential election draws near, this division and rancor poses an existential threat to democracy.
- Fearing for their jobs and lacking the training to navigate these unprecedented times, many teachers and schools won’t even touch sensitive issues. How can we hope for a better future if our children aren’t learning how to talk to each other in school?

- Research from the past decade shows that Speak Truth helps students develop the listening, speaking, and thinking skills required to shift from judgment to understanding, a necessity for bridging polarizing divides.
Speak Truth America is an initiative of Center for Inspired Teaching in partnership with Meridian Hill Pictures. Together we bring half a century of experience and expertise building empathy, curiosity, and connection.
We're looking for educators who want to bring Speak Truth America to their classrooms this fall.
Participants will receive professional development, materials, and resources to support civic discourse. Young people need to learn how to engage across difference with curiosity and respect. Make your classroom the place where this happens!
